I know this has been post about before ad nauseum but I checked back a few days under the priest tag and found nothing.

My disc priest is going holy because our guild needs her to be (hey everyone finally getting geared enough for 10/25-man content sup). Well, dual-spec, disc/holy. But I digress.

HALP. I have NO IDEA how to gear a holy priest. ;_; Is it Int -> Spi -> SP, or SP -> Crit -> Int? Everyone has a different opinion. I started a fight between two holy priests in trade over this, lol.

Gear for haste, Gem for int, enchant for SP? I have no idea what to do. So lost. Help!

Hi Ladies!

Quick question as my google-fu has failed me.

how do I set up Power Auras to have a texture (image) and a timer for the CD of my Shamanistic rage ability?

I swear I've seen a video of it somewhere but I can;t figure out how to do it myself.

Thanks!

OK, you're a knowledgeable bunch and this is kindof Linux related to here goes:

I need to develop a website in PHP containing a form which will support the inputting of e-mail addresses with IDNs, convert the IDNs to Punycode (with the xn-- prefix) and drop all required form info into an e-mail to be sent to the site owner. This most usefully requires the idn_to_ascii function.

This requires at the least (further investigation may turn up more headaches) PHP >= 5.3 or, failing that, >= 5.2.4 with PEAR Installer >= 1.4.0 to install the PECL intl extension.

This I can do locally (after finding yet another bit of broken config in OpenSUSE that needed fixing before PECL would work) but I need to be able to do this on a shared hosting server if this is possible.

Does anyone know of any hosting companies which provide this support? I know a virtualised private host would allow root access and all the control that goes with it but I'm hoping to keep costs down.

Extra bonus features include ssh/sftp/file over ssh support, local .htaccess and php.ini files and multiple domain names to the one site.

Subject:The Chat Police?

Mood: irritated.
Has anybody seen or encountered an addon that spouts innane garbage in a chat channel immediatly after somebody swears? I get this all the time on my server, and it just seems to expand my ignore list. This kind of thing:

[Lolface]: Man, I just f***ing hate gated release systems
[Someidiotwiththisaddon]: Just like I'd vote NO on public health care, I vote NO to Lolface's swearing!

That's an actual message (names changed to protect the innocent and the stupid) I've seen. I'm really becoming quite bothered by this, as I don't believe there's anything about swearing in the ToS other than actual offensive statements, and if you're really concerned you can just use the mature language filter instead of filling trade or general chat with even more inane (and, I think, pompous and self-righteous) spam. I mean, really, who died and made you the fun police of Icecrown general chat?

Any stories, rants or other encounters with this kind of thing? Also, does anybody know what this unholy bucket of addon fail is called?

Posted by:hyperallergina.
Time:5:37 pm.

This year I tried, once again, to make some gifts for my family. These crafty christmases haven''t always gone over well in the past. My family somehow isn't one who understands the heart that a crafter puts into each stitch. To them I am just plain "weird". Do other people who LOVE making things for other people have this problem too? Or is it just my crazy family?

Anyway, this year I am broke broke broke and I couldn't afford to go home so I challenged myself to craft with only things I already owned (I didn't even buy wrapping paper!) and sent things home in the mail.

After Christmas I was surprised to get a phone call from my mother gushing about the gift I made for her! Actual genuine appreciation! She is HAPPY with what I made her and wants to show her friends and is encouraging me to write the pattern for it out so it doesn't get forgotten!
WEEE!

Would you like to see the gift that finally thrilled her?

Warning: Pics might be a bit on the large side. Hopefully, not TOO large.

Too bad she says it is too nice to actually USE. Sigh.

Subject:Resto druid potentially looking for new guild
Posted by:celticmyst08.
Time:4:36 pm.
Hai thar.

I'm a bit tired of my current guild. It started out really awesome, but our raid leader had to quit WoW due to RL issues and our new one is...meh. Some of you may remember the post I made a few weeks ago about him. He transferred here from another server and a top 100 raiding guild. He is really hardcore and has begun to recruit his friends here from other servers and giving them priority in raid spots. A lot of our former core members of our 10man teams have been replaced.

Anyways. Here's me. http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Spinebreaker&n=Sarasita

What I'm interested in: A "casual-core" raiding guild. I'm not looking for e-peen waggers, gear snobs, or people that raid 7 nights a week so they can get the server first. I'm alliance and really don't want to faction transfer, but I am certainly willing to get off the godforsaken Spinebreaker realm (like 10 horde to 1 alliance or something terribad like that, and also it's pvp eew). I want a guild that values respect above all, and understands that RL > WoW -- and I want a really set-in-stone raiding schedule. I just want to know that I will be expected to raid xyz nights a week at xyz time. It makes my life easier. I'm on the east coast (well sort of) and am not really interested than raiding more than 3 scheduled nights a week. I'd also like to get done with raids at a decent hour since I am a student. (Decent = midnightish, 1am at the latest)

Experience: I have done all WotLK raids except for 25man Icecrown (because we haven't had enough people online to do it). I've done the first 2 bosses in 10man ToGC, but never got to finish, because Mr. Raid Leader replaced me with one of his friends who transferred in.

Meh this was long. If any of you ladies have a guild that needs a resto druid (I have a feral dps offspec also), go forth and comment!

(Yes, that's What Would WoW Ladies Do?)

Got a group for UK reg, DK is tanking. Had a ret pali, a hunter, and a mage. I'm healing on my druid I just switched back to resto after trying and failing at the bear tank. People are actually saying hi and talking when we zone in. Seems to be a good sign, IMO. So off we go. 2nd or 3rd pull is a group of 3 mobs. Tank is taking huge amounts of damage and I have to resort to Healing Touch. I never have had to do this, so I go over and inspect Mr. DK to see he has absolutely no defense or avoidance gear whatsoever. Erm.

So would you re-queue right there or stick it out and see what happens?

I stuck it out til after the second boss, after I made comments about the tank having no defense and how hard it was to keep him up, then we wiped on a 4-pull because I don't have an instant heal that hits for 10k and apparently asking for CC from the pali and mage was falling on deaf ears.

Subject:Playlist Nerdery...
Posted by:xcourtkneex.
Time:1:43 pm.
Hiya ladies! Happy Almost-New-Years-Eve to you!

Ever since my boyfriend turned me on to Grooveshark, I've been totally nerding out and making playlists for my characters. It got me wondering if anyone else has any musical preferences during gameplay. Also, I need to add some new songs to my repertoire. For example, I listen to a LOT of Queen while raiding on my holy pally. She is a Dwarf, so "Fat Bottomed Girls" is like her theme song XD I know I'm a total dorkus, you don't have to tell me. Other songs that get me pumped for raiding as a holy pally?
  • "Save Me" - Queen
  • "Keep Yourself Alive" - Queen (why so incredibly on the nose, Queen?)
  • "Don't Stop Me Now" - Queen (mostly appropriate because of the scene in Shaun of the Dead lol)
  • "One More Magic Potion" - Ensiferum (these guys are AWESOME. It's like VIKING ROCK or something. Most of their songs are about elves and goblins and magic potions anyway, so extra geek points, but OMG METAL WITH FLUTES AND STUFF)
  • "Savior" - Rise Against
  • "DOA" - Foo Fighters
  • "Hearts Burst Into Fire" - Bullet for my Valentine (just fast-paced popmetal...it makes me happy)
  • "Living on a Prayer" - Bon Jovi
  • "Don't Stop Believing" - Journey (I hardly think this one should be left off of any playlist lol)
  • "Damn it Feels Good to be a Gangsta" - Geto Boys (this one just tickles me. Dwarf paladins are totally gangster, guys. I don't know if you knew)
There are about a million more that are slightly less appropriate examples, but yeah, you get the idea.

So now I'm feeling all exposed and nerdtastic, so for the love of god, please tell me I'm at least not a lonely nerd. What songs do you listen to while playing? What makes them just perfect for your character or your gameplay? Do you even listen to music while playing? Gimme some new material, guys! I'm always up for checking out new songs and artists <3

Time:11:15 am.
I don't know if anyone else has posted about this, but I've stumbled over a glitch in the Call Stabled Pet function during a random dungeon. Apparently, if you activate a different spec during a cross-realms instance -- I activated my SV spec from MM -- the Call Stabled Pet cool-down escalates from 5 minutes to 14 days! It's a known glitch, some sort of carryover from arena play, and Blizzard is working on it.

There is a very specific fix, but you have to follow the steps exactly.

Subject:How to be a better level 16 Holy Paladin
Posted by:sunsmoon.
Time:12:22 pm.
1.) Wear only your max available armor (ie: mail 'til 40, then plate). Only scrub paladins wear anything less than that, even if there are no (or very limited) mail/plate items available with Intellect and they all happen to be 10g a piece.
2.) DPS during the instance, even if healing needs to be done. If you help us kill things faster then you will need to do less healing!
3.) Don't stop and drink. Seriously you're making this take way too long. Just wait until someone dies and res them. If you never cast a heal you'll never have to drink since you don't have enough DPS spells to go OOM.
4.) Just spec ret. Glitterstorm heals. Instant cast flash of light. Judging more means more heals too, right?

<3 the level 15 ret paladin in your RFC, and the level 59 Death Knight that inspected you while you were buying a glyph.

Time:11:55 am.
With the advent of the new LFG system people are running a lot more instances with strangers and I'm sure we've all run across someone who hasn't been to the instance before but doesn't say so. You can tell because:
  • They don't stop DPS when the Devourer of Souls casts Mirrored Soul
  • They stand on Hadronox's poison clouds
  • They don't move Urom out of the Frost Bomb (Actually, what people don't know about Oculus could be its own topic.)
And so forth. What are some things you think people should know about certain instances and bosses?

 hello, ladies.

i'm starting to feel very confused lately. i've been using the dungeon finder loads to do some emblem grinding and for as many people that love my heals there are also just as many that run-off at the mouth hating on them. let's talk about the latter... what's kind of strange is that i've had more than one of the anti-me people ask why i'm using rank 1 spells (which i'm not, and have double-checked). the kicker is that in most of these dungeons where i am "fail healing" there are no deaths or wipes - and it's infuriating.

alas, it bothers me. and i wonder if there is something that i am missing. i was hoping some you wonderful peeps could take a look at my armory for any glaring stat mistakes or the like. i'm at a loss.

i have no problem at all healing with my guild raids, but i think it's also a comfort thing. yet, i still want to be able to live up to the expectations of a pug... /sigh

Okay. On Wyrmrest accord, there is aforum for Roleplayers. And there is a "Pug's that make you WTF" thread. Right now, I'm not WTFing over someone's PuG so much as I am at their reaction to a PuG. I am hella pissed off right now because of it. Instead of posting a link to the forum itself and defaming the person who angered me, I'll just copy/paste it from the forum.
what the crap is this )

Incoming angry rant:

If you don't like the way people are treating you, get the hell out of the dungeon. Don't make an ass out of yourself in return, because it doesn't matter anymore how shitty they they've been - your reaction was awful and I'm actually what-the-fucking about that and not your dungeon right now. Saying that you'll "will rape you in the face with your knife," is not only a poor reflection of your character as a human being, but you know what? I'd kick you too. And I would report the hell out of you for that threat you made.

Allow me to say that uh, throwing words like "rape" around flippantly and using them in such a manner that it's a threat is. Never. Okay. What on EARTH was going through your head when you said this? I don't freaking care if your dungeon was horrible and they treated you badly - I get into pugs like that all. The. Time! And I LEAVE. I don't get herp-a-derp vote-kicked because I was saying unkind things - because I don't say them. People treat you terribly. Then what? You LEAVE the situation. End of story. Because your behavoir is reportable and just horrible in relation to theirs

Yeah, I have no sympathy. Sorry.

TLDR: What the hell is wrong with some people?
Edit: I was mad and...probably should have waited until I was calmer to post. =/ Guh.
Edit two: man, I feel hella bad posting this now. :(

Subject:Tanking and healing preferences, your thoughts?
Posted by:sorcha_ruel.
Time:9:42 am.
With the wait time for healers and tanks being like nil in the LFG system now, I have taken to brushing the dust off some old alts and making them those specs if they can be. So far I have a 32 warrior, 72 druid, and my recently respecced 80 pali to tank. Then my 53 druid, 63 shaman, and 66 priest to heal. I have found I love druid and shaman healing. I have had a more difficult time getting back into healing with my priest as disc, since I was raiding with her as holy way back in vanilla. Could be lack of practice or change in spec, but it's just not gelling for me yet.

The tanks have been interesting. Thus far I have found warrior and pali tanking to be far easier than bear tanking, especially for multiple mobs. I looked up tons of info before I tried tanking on my bear again even though I'd done alot of it pre-Wrath. One of my best friends plays a bear tank and I have run countless heroics with him and he is always frustrated with his performance and now I can see why. Just seems a mad scramble for control. I am wondering if anyone else feels this way...?

So in a nutshell I think the druid is my favorite healer and the pali my favorite tank, though I could see the warrior bringing up a close second if I stick with leveling her. Any other altoholics taking advantage of the LFG system to level non-dps specs?

Subject:Alts, LFD, and Prot Warriors, oh my!
Posted by:getaway_machine.
Time:9:45 am.
So, awhile ago the boy and I decided to do RAF. We got quite a few pairs to 60 with this, and ended up actually doing RAF twice, so we have a whoooole plethora of alts in the mid 50s-60 range. A lot of them we power-leveled through dungeons with our 80s, because ooooh boy it's silly how easy that is. When we were making the chars to level, I decided it would be funny to make a female gnome warrior with pink hair, and have her be the big bad tank, and the boy decided to make a priest to go with her, and now we've decided this is the next pair we want to get to 80.

I started at 60 without having actually played my warrior since level 15 or so, thanks to the power leveling. We did some quests in hellfire to get somewhat of the hang of it, and then stuck ourselves in the new low-level LFD. omg it pops SO FAST when you're a tank/heal combo. So we got thrown into Ramps the first few times, and I sucked of course, but I'm slowly starting to get better, and I think I've turned into a decent little tank. Decent enough that now we're saying we want to level exclusively through LFD, and not quest anymore. (They'll hit 80 without having the 100 quests completed achievement, which I find hilarious.)

It's nice too, because I get comments from people about how nice it is to actually have a warrior specced prot and tanking low-level, since they almost never see that. Yeah, I'm LOVING leveling this way, and I'm really enjoying tanking as well, surprisingly.

But, I want to be a good tank, too. I was wondering if any of you have advice for a lower level prot warrior?
This is my armory:
http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Frostwolf&cn=Pinkea&gn=Spaceballs+The+Guild
I'm totally willing to respec if my spec is wonky or anything, too. I think I've been doing pretty well, but I only glanced at my friends 80 prot warriors spec, and sort of just threw points where they seemed right. Copied glyphs off that person, but I have no idea if they're right, either -- and now that I look, I have shockwave glyphed, but I haven't been using it. Should I be?

And, just for fun, how has the new LFD been treating YOU in lower levels? It takes me a lot longer to get in with my DPS I know, but I've had mostly good groups. Any fun stories?

Posted by:hunted.
Time:9:59 am.
I seek advice yet again from people much wiser then me.

While I am not the most hardcore of players, I do raid on my protection warrior and love it. I've toe stepped into ICC 25 man only to be crushed by Lord Marrowgar and have been working on getting my gear up to snuff. My first ICC 10 man will hopefully be later this week.

ToC 25 man last night finally let go of it's shield, so I bid farewell to my beautiful Royal Crest of Lordaeron for the coffin top.

My question is simple: how important is hit rating to a tank? As of right now, mine is terribad. (For legality, armory link)

It seems funny how I struggle to get hit on my warrior when my shaman is so much over cap.

These are questions to all the ladies and the gents out there that have faction changed. What did you like most about the change? And what did you like least? What about something you miss now that you have changed?

I went horde today, leaving behind the horns and hooves of sexiness to take up the belf mantle which is also sexy but just missing the space goat appeal. However that is not what I am missing most! I miss my white hippogriff (silver covenant hippogriff) the most!
More so than anything else. The dragon hawk just doesn't do the same level of squee for me.

Side note: anyone have trouble with their UI/mods after changing? My mods seem to be having endless errors since I faction changed and while farming rep in ICC, my frames suddenly dropped from 35fps to 2fps. And then all my mods bugged out.  Restarted wow and they've bugged out again.  I really hope a repair is not in order.

So my husband and I started WoW the other day on Turaylon (medium pop / normal serv). We're huge Warcraft fans, always have been, so we knew that Horde was where we wanted to be.. However the server we're on seems to be very quiet and full of, well, idiots. Trade chat is overloaded with people talking about petty squabbles, relationship issues and making random <(^.^)> crap like that all the time. I don't particularly want to LEAVE trade chat because I like checking out offers people are making.

Are all servers like this or can anyone here offer up a suggestion as to which server we should be looking at instead?
